A visit from the Dentist Friday March 11, 2011

Caring for tiny teeth now will prevent big problems if children develop good dental habits when they are young. Because most dental problems can be avoided in the first place,February was NationalChildren’s Dental Health Month. On Friday

we all had a chance in meeting a wonderful children's dentist. He brought with him a gigantic model of teeth and a big toothbrush,

to teach the children proper brushing techniques. Many of the children will be losing their baby teeth next year so preventive care is especially important. Each child in the class had a chance to practice good brushing skills on a giant model of a mouth after the Dr. demonstrated the proper brushing technique. “Use a soft toothbrush,” he told the children, “and brush inside and outside your teeth, including gums. Gums bleed when they are not healthy.”He also said, “Parents should begin helping their children brush their teeth as early as possible. He talked with the children about eating a lot of good food, stay away

from sticky candy, brush, rinse your mouth after eating, floss, and visit a dentist at least twice a year; and you should maintain healthy teeth and gums your who life.

The children really enjoyed his presentation.

*This Friday we will participate in the school carnival for Purim at 9:15 a.m. We would love it if you could join us and help out.
