Pesach

This week during circle we will be reviewing the selling of Yosef, the enslaving of the Jews, the birth of Moshe and his encounter with the burning bush. We also started reviewing the 10 plagues.

We already started our Passover Haggadahs. For Kadesh we decorated a kiddush cup. The children colored and cut out a washing cup for Urchatz. We glued salt on the Karpas page and we cut out a potato to dip in the "salt water." Outside we made an impression on a circle with brown paint to create a Matzah to cut out for Yachatz.

The songs we started learning today are the order of the Seder and the Mah Nishtana (Four Questions). I was very impressed with how quickly the kids are picking up the Hebrew in these songs. It will definitely be a treat to hear them sing at your Pesach Seder.

Today we did an experiment to better understand the difference between Chametz and Matzah. We used two bowls - in one bowl we put flower and water, and in the other bowl we put flower, water, yeast, and a pinch of sugar. The kids got a chance to observe how the yeast really makes the dough rise.

As you can see we had a VERY busy day!

Sorry no photos today-my camera was left at school.

Shalom,
